Biography

Global Protect Initiative (GPI) “Global Protect Initiative (GPI)” is a catalyst Programme developed by Global Health International Institute (GH2I) to support malaria elimination initiatives in Africa. “Global Protect Initiative” is intended to be a very ambitious multisectoral and innovative initiative which combines environmental and public health measures for malaria elimination. It aims to strengthen malaria prevention measures through the promotion of the installation and use of insect nets or grids at the exterior doors and windows of houses in the country. “Global Protect Initiative”, through its vision, goals, objectives and activities, is aligned with the Regional Goal of Malaria Elimination in Africa by 2030. Through the implementation of "Global Protect Initiative", GH2i intends to promote the concept and integrate into the daily behaviors of the population, the use of insect nets or grids to protect external windows and doors of the houses against the entrance of insects moving by air including mosquitoes. About Global Health International Institute (GH2I) Global Health International Institute (GH2I) is a humanitarian, multi professional, non-governmental association established to promote Public Health in Africa and worldwide. It has been duly registered within the Ministry of Territorial Administration, Decentralization and Local governance of Togo under the registry number 1109 of March 25th, 2010. Gh2i aims to: a) mobilize and build capacity and skills of health professionals; b) support the efforts of Governments in the improvement and promotion of the concept of "Health for all"; c) promote access to “Health Care for all" by reducing disparities between population groups and between geographical areas; d) promote the application of scientific knowledge for the protection and promotion of health in communities; e) encourage and support professional North/South and South/South exchanges between universities, institutes and hospitals. Thus, Gh2i works with governments, local universities and other institutions, national and international agencies engaged in health promotion, disease prevention, and in the improvement of quality of life, by implementing an organized policy development, planning, scientific research, monitoring and evaluation, education and health training. Global Health International Institute operate in the following areas: a) Training and Research in Public Health b) Health Promotion and disease prevention c) Relief and prevention of infectious diseases in case of disasters and catastrophes d) Promotion of medical partnerships North-South and South-South e) Expertise in planning, monitoring and evaluation of projects and programs in Public health and Development.
