Biography
The Africa Indoor Residual Spraying Project is a USAID supported project under the President's Malaria Initiative (PMI) being implemented in 17 African countries. AIRS Nigeria is a large community (household) based intervention to prevent/break the cycle of malaria transmission by killing malarial mosquitoes which pick up lethal dose of insecticide after perching on walls which have been sprayed. At the end of the project over 60,000 structures were sprayed, protecting over 350,000 individuals including over 60,000 children under 5 and over 16,000 pregnant women. The BOVA network will offer me the opportunity of creating an extensive network of malaria researchers and partners alike, thus, enabling me to build on my career in malaria vector control.
