Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) is a State Corporation established through the Science and Technology (Amendment) Act of 1979, which has since been amended to Science, Technology and Innovation Act 2013. KEMRI is a nonprofit organization Headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, with several Research and Training Centres across the country. As a National body its mission is to improve human health and quality of life through research, capacity building, innovation and service delivery. KEMRI has six (6) Main Programmes aligned to the KEMRI Strategic Master plan and the Vision 2030. These include Biotechnology, Traditional Medicine Drug Development, Infectious and Parasitic Diseases, Public Health and Health Systems, Non-communicable Diseases and Sexual, Reproductive, Adolescent and Child Health. In its effort to discharge its mandate, KEMRI collaborates with local, regional and international institutions including universities, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), Industries and other research institutions. I am interested in joining the network so that i can be part of an important group that targets to alleviate vector-borne diseases across the globe.
