Biography

Malaria Research and Training Center is a internationally known center located in Bamako, Mali. Created in the early 1980s MRTC primarily focused on research on malaria, however with its expansion and its multiple collaboration the center's cuurent line of research goes beyond malaria. Current expertise include but is not limited to filariasis, leishmaniasis. Transition is being made towards arboviruses caused diseases such as dengue. Tick-borne diseases are also being explored in our acarology unit. Entomology is a central pillar of the center. Why am I interested? As an entomologists I totally share your objective of preventing VBDs. The area of environmental management has not had or has lost attention. The "built environment", a component of the entire environment management, I think, needs more attention and I believe it will contribute a lot in reducing the transmission of diseases such as malaria, dengue, etc. If BOVA is dealing with these questions in Sub Saharan Africa I am happy to join!
