My background is in Tropical Medicine (PhD from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine) - particularly in malaria and bacterial meningitis. I have worked with the UK Met. Office to use climate models as a means of predicting disease distribution. I have also worked with Medecins sans Frontieres in meningitis risk mapping. MMU has a very long history of using remote sensing and climate modelling as a means of mapping and modelling disease. We have a Geography of Health CPD course and former undergraduate alumni in organisations such as NASA working in health.
