The Wits Research Institute for Malaria covers all aspects of malaria, from entomology and parasitology to clinical and drug development. As I recall from reading about the history of the 1950/60's malaria eradication programme, one of the major reasons for eradicating malaria in Italy was improvement of housing and sanitation (in addition to spraying DDT of course). I will therefore be very interested to hear how the BOVA network progresses in rolling out similar improvements in African towns and cities.
