My work in WHO, especially between 1983 and 1996, covered the area of environmental management for vector control, as executive secretary of the Joint WHO/FAO/UNEP Panel of Experts on Environmental Management for Vector Control. In my subsequent work on health impact assessment capacity development, the broad concept of health in development also covered an important vector-borne disease component. In my work on water and sanitation I addressed issues related to househorld water safe storage, including the control of Aedes breeding.
